What is Croc Coatings, you ask? 

Well...let me tell you!

It is an epoxy floor covering that I have always wanted in my garage. Since this is a new house build and my forever home, I wanted a finished garage. This flooring comes in loads of different colors and you can even customize it if you don't see something you like. The finished floor looks very much like what you would see in a car showroom. 

I met Croc Coatings at a Home Product Show in Coeur D'Alene and thought on it quite a bit due to the expense of $6500. I researched if I could DIY it, but I could not overcome the cost of materials ($4000) and the potential for (my) operator error. That doesn't include the tools I would have to buy or the special cleat shoes to walk on it during painting. 

So...I made the call. A nice young lady came to measure my garage and give us the low-down on the cost and when it could be done. We had already started moving things into the garage, so those things would have to be moved out. Ugh... ok...  this is my 3-car garage...

We set the date and the workers came. The moisture level was too high .... Ugh... reschedule for another day, weeks ahead...

Then...the second try...moisture levels OK - It's a go! First day was spent polishing the floor and prepping it so that the coating would stick properly. 

The next day, 3 guys arrived and painted the floor and added the specks...it looked so good! The entire job was completed that day. We were told that we could walk on it by that evening and should wait a week before parking cars on it...

...it's so pretty, no cars will ever be parked on these floors! Total cost $6500 for a 3-car garage. 

Another item checked off of my house build list!
